Birthright is a Dungeons & Dragons Campaign Setting.
Birthright takes place in the world of Aebrynis, in the Prime Material plane. In the continent of Cerilia, in the great battle between good and evil, all the gods perished. Their powers were absorbed into the gods' greatest lieutenants, who became the new generation of gods. But much power was also absorbed by others present.
This divine power tied the nobility to their lands. A ruler's personal health and fortune was reflected in the health and fortune of the lands they controlled. This led to many seeking a balance, where they would split their time between managing their kingdoms with adventuring to increase their own personal standing.

Most D&D game lines have been published through multiple editions. Birthright is one of the few game lines that was only published for a single edition; Wizards of the Coast has not returned to it since 2nd Edition.
